Neil Warnock thinks Spurs have made a mistake to sack Harry Redknapp

Leeds manager Neil Warnock has blasted Tottenham for their decision to sack Harry Redknapp and believes the new manager has to challenge for the top four straight away.

The north Londoners finished fourth last season but missed out on a Champions League spot after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich to become European Champions and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had decided that the 65-year-old had taken the club as far as he could.

And Warnock believes that Tottenham will struggle to reach the heights they did under Redknapp.

Warnock told the Daily Star Sunday: “Having done so well under Harry, finishing fourth twice, they can’t now bring someone in and be satisfied with going back to sixth or seventh.

“They have got to hope they can take the club forward.

“I can’t see how the people they are talking about are going to take it on. I can’t see them finishing as high as they did under Harry.”
