Transfer news: Real Madrid have made their interest in Luka Modric clear
Real Madrid assistant manager Aitor Karanka has described Tottenham’s Luka Modric as ‘outstanding’ and believes he would be a good fit for the Spanish giants.
Modric, a long-term target for Manchester United, is reportedly pushing for a transfer to Madrid, and Karanka’s comments hint that a deal could be in the offing.
“Which club would not want a player like him?,” Karank told AS.
“He is an outstanding footballer and had a great tournament (Euro 2012). It is clear that he would fit in at Madrid.”
The Croatia international has been fined by Spurs for his refusal to join their pre-season tour of the USA, but on Monday he reported for training back in London.
