Sir Alex Ferguson was complimentary of Spurs
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Tottenham after the Red Devils won 3-1 at White Hart Lane.
The Red Devils took the lead just before half-time thanks to a Wayne Rooney goal before Ashley Young bagged a brace before Jermain Defoe scored a consolation.
“It was a great performance by Tottenham in the first half,” Ferguson told Sky Sports.
“But we improved in the second-half.”
The Manchester United manager felt his side had a bit of luck to finish the game off.
“We had a bit of luck scoring the second. They’re a hard team to kill off Tottenham,” he added.
“The goalkeeper made a fantastic save in the second-half.”
