Kenny Moyes, agent of Liverpool star Charlie Adam, has come out in defence of his client after being accused by Tottenham ace Gareth Bale of being a coward.

The Reds midfielder’s challenge left the Welshman in pain and on crutches during a pre-season friendly.

It was not the first time the pair had clashed with Bale injured for three months after a bad challenge from the Scot.

“Everyone in football knows he has no malice or anything like that in him,” Moyes said.

“For someone to have a go like that is outrageous.

“It was schoolboyish for them to come out and say that.”
