The former Arsenal and Blackburn man has endured a torrid time at White Hart Lane in recent seasons, struggling with form and injuries.

The 28-year-old has refused to rule out extending his stay in Russia and admits he is unsure if he has a future at Spurs.

“I’m excited by the challenge. I’m there until Christmas; I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead,” Bentley told Sky Sports.

“You never know with the football season and I’m treating it as a short-term contract.

“But long term we’ll see what happens.

“Obviously I’m going there to enjoy the football, so if things work out we’ll go from there.”
