Transfer news: Clint Dempsey is on the verge of signing for Spurs

Fulham’s Clint Dempsey is at Spurs Lodge undergoing a medical ahead of a transfer to Tottenham.

The USA forward had been been strongly linked with both Aston Villa and Liverpool in a dramatic deadline day tug of war.

But the 29-year-old is now close to sealing an eleventh hour move to Andre Villas-Boas’ side.
