Clint Dempsey has been named US Soccer’s Male Athlete of the Year for the third time in his career.
The Tottenham star, who has 30 goals in 91 appearances for USA’s national team, becomes only the second athlete to win the award two years in a row, after Landon Donovan.
Dempsey has scored twice for new side Spurs since his deadline day switch from Fulham.
