William Gallas says Tottenham will battle hard for their first win of the season against Reading.

The north Londoners face the newly-promoted Royals at the Madjeski Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as they aim to put their disappointing start to the season behind them.

Spurs have drawn twice and lost once in their opening three Premier League games under Andre Villas-Boas but Gallas insists they have learnt their lesson after their 1-1 draw with Norwich last weekend.

“We have to work again for the next game, to improve again. We have to fight,” the Frenchman told Tottenham’s official website.

“In the Premier League now, when you saw how Norwich played and I would say they played well, they were compact, maybe we didn’t play quick.

“So they had time to come back and be ready for the counter-attack. We have to improve on that.”
