Steve Clarke will meet with Jonas Olsson when he returns to pre-season training at West Brom

West Brom will hold discussions with star player Jonas Olsson after Sweden’s Euro 2012 campaign came to a close.

Both West Ham and Tottenham are believed to be interested in the 29-year-old defender.

“I didn’t want to intrude too much because Jonas was out there representing his country and it was a big tournament for him,” Baggies head coach Steve Clarke told the Wolverhampton Express and Star.

“Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out for Sweden but I wanted to leave Jonas just to concentrate on his country.

“Hopefully between now and the report back for training date, I’ll get the chance to meet him and have a chat with him.

“Ideally I want to keep all the contracted players and bring in another two or three that can help them.

“That would be the ideal scenario, although it doesn’t always work out like that. Jonas is a key player for the team and the club and I’ll do what I can to keep him here.”
