Tottenham defender Bongani Khumalo has joined Greek side PAOK on a season-long loan.

The South Africa international failed to make a first team appearance, with the 25-year-old spending loan spells at Preston and Reading in his 18 months at the club.

“I am very happy to be here,” Khumalo told reporters following his arrival in Greece.

“I know that I have come to a club with thousands of fans. I want to help the team to reach their targets.

“I was on holiday when I received the call from my agent who told me about PAOK and other Greek clubs who showed interest. Panathinaikos also wanted to sign me in the past.

“I chose PAOK because I believe that we can do something really good next season. I saw them playing last year against Tottenham and I knew that they are a club with ambitions in the European competitions.”
