Transfer news: David Button may remain at Barnsley until the end of the season

Barnsley manager Keith Hill is hoping to extend the loan of Tottenham goalkeeper David Button until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old joined the Tykes on March 19 and has made five appearances for the club but his deal is due to expire after Saturday’s game with Cardiff City.

“Luke’s definitely out so I’m hopeful we can sign David for longer,” Hill told the Sheffield Star.

“As far as I know, they don’t want to recall him. David is gaining valuable experience and game-time, so it would be great if could extend his deal.”

Barnsley are eight points clear of the relegation zone with four games remaining.
