Tottenham star Gylfi Sigurdsson believes that the 3-1 win over Reading has given them a boost ahead of hosting Lazio and QPR.
The north Londoners failed to win in the first three league games but Jermain Defoe’s brace along with a strike from Gareth Bale gave the Lilywhites the win over the Royals.
“It’s fantastic to get our first win and now we can look forward, work hard again in the week and prepare for a hard game against Lazio and then QPR,” Sigurdsson told the club’s official website.
The midfielder knows that the Italian giants will provide a stern test in the Europa League opener.
“They are a good team, it’s great to play in Europe and we’re looking forward to that game, trying to get off to a good start,” he added. “It will be important to get three points at home.”
