Transfer news: Tottenham will allow Luka Modric to leave if thet receive the right offers, says Andre Villas-Boas
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas says that Luka Modric’s future depends on whether his suitors, Real Madrid and Man Utd, are willing to meet their valuation.
The unhappy Croatian has returned to Tottenham training but will be fined two weeks wages after attempting to force a transfer out of the White Hart Lane club by missing their pre-season tour of the USA.
Villas-Boas is hoping the situation can be resolved quickly but insists that it is up to bidding clubs to increase their offers.
“The situation is not dependent on Tottenham, it is dependent on the clubs who are interested in the player,” he told reporters.
“Hopefully the situation does not drag on because it doesn’t help Luka and it doesn’t help to solve in any way the situation.”
