Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored ‘the best goal I’ve ever seen live’ in the eyes of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard but was it the best bicycle kick?
Former QPR hero Trevor Sinclair have scored sensational bicycle kick goals as well as Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and Emile Heskey.
The Sweden striker took advantage of Joe Hart’s weak headed clearance and volleyed it with his back to goal straight in on the full.
But is it the greatest bicycle kick goal of all time?
London24 has looked at a selection of goals and have come up with these as other options.
Trevor Sinclair (QPR v Barnsley)
A goal that did not rely on a goalkeeping error in the first place and was right out of the top drawer.
The R’s ace scored that goal in the same season (1996/97) as David Beckham’s strike from the half-way line against Wimbledon and beat that effort to goal of the season.
Wayne Rooney (Manchester United v Manchester City)
A goal worthy of winning any game, but a Manchester derby made it more special.
With 12 minutes to go and the game locked at 1-1, Nani's ball into the box was acrobatically struck into the net, past Joe Hart, by the England international to win the game for the Red Devils.
Emile Heskey (Newcastle Jets v Melbourne Victory)
The former Liverpool man was much maligned for his goalscoring record but he produced a stunning overhead kick for his new side.
Victory failed to deal with a corner and the former England international lashed his bicycle kick home.
Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United v Liverpool)
The Bulgarian striker, now at Fulham, made it 2-0 with a stunning strike after half time to make it 2-0.
Nani’s cross was controlled by Berbatov, with his back to goal, who then bicycle kicked it past Pepe Reina and into the net.
Then Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson said: "The second goal wasn’t really a chance. We thought we had it under control."
