The final weekend of May will see next year’s British Superbikes Championship buzz into Norfolk.

Series promoters and Snetterton circuit owners Motorsport Vision have announced the full calendar for next year, with the likes of 2011 champion Tommy Hill – who won the title in such thrilling style – due in the county on May 25-27 to take on the Snetterton 300 track.

A field of 32 riders and 16 elite teams representing six manufacturers will race with new ground-breaking technical regulations next year over 12 rounds – including a trip to the iconic Assen Circuit in the Netherlands.

Donington Park will host the critical final round of the main season on September 7-9, to hopefully book their place in the top six for the showdown phase – at Silverstone Arena GP, Assen and Brands Hatch GP.

Motorsport Vision chief executive Jonathan Palmer said: “The calendar is the strongest ever and this is a tribute to the extraordinary health of BSB amidst tough economic conditions that are a major challenge to many other series.

“It has always been a priority for us to drive down the costs of competing in BSB with sport-leading technical regulations while driving up the quality of the show. As a result BSB is becoming ever more attractive to manufacturers, teams, riders, sponsors, circuits and fans, which means 2012 is likely to be BSB’s best year yet.”

MCE Insurance BSB 2012 calendar: Brands Hatch Indy – April 6-9; Thruxton – April 13-15; Oulton Park International – May 5-7; Snetterton 300 – May 25-27; Knockhill – June 22-24; Oulton Park International – July 6-8; Brands Hatch GP – July 20-22; Cadwell Park – August 25-27; Donington Park GP – September 7-9; TT Circuit Assen (NL) – September 21-23; Silverstone GP – September 28-30; Brands Hatch GP – October 12-14.
