The original big brother of all urban craft beer and music festivals returns from February 21 to 23 at, fittingly, the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane.

It brings together an adventurous mix of 60 breweries with an array of more than 200 beers, street food and music, headlined this year by Mr Scruff.

Staged for the first time last year, Craft Beer Rising was a massive sell-out, tapping in to the thirst for real ale and craft beers.

Organisers of the 2014 festival promise an extra session, more breweries and beers have been invited, with tastings, talks and experimentation as well.

Craft Beer Rising co-founder Daniel Rowntree, who also owns The Old Nun’s Head pub in south east London, said the festival brings ‘all-round beer entertainment’, and aims to have the whole city join in the adventure that is the craft beer revolution.

“We ourselves are a team of passionate beer drinkers with strong events experience,” Daniel added.

“Ever-thirsty to learn more and share our discoveries, we are very excited about adding new surprises to this unmissable weekender.”

Tickets are on sale here from £15 and include £5 worth of beer tokens and a festival glass, and for details on the full schedule see the festival’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
